Nyla enjoys being a living historian portraying many historical women including Betsy Ross and Caroline Harrison, wife of President Benjamin Harrison. She dresses in costume and presents the interesting histories of many famous and not so famous women. Her goal is to help people learn more about history.
About the Author
Nyla is a retired dentist, rural hobbyist, and Christian author best known for her Coram Deo trilogy, which follows a community of Christians navigating the end times. Alongside writing, she spent her career in rural Indiana and enjoys family life, gardening, and raising sheep. Her multifaceted background bridges healthcare, writing, and history.
Nyla grew up on farms in Indiana where she raised and showed livestock until a few years ago. She enjoyed history, science, literature, and drama in high school and college and graduated from IU School of Dentistry and practiced general dentistry in a small town for 33 years before retiring. Nyla has two children and five grandchildren. She and her husband Joe moved to Georgia in 2019 to spend more time with grandchildren.
When not spending time with the grands, Nyla volunteers at her church, writes and teaches Bible studies, and budgeting seminars. She likes to do crafts, gardening, and write fiction. She has five published books and is working on several others. She started exploring her family genealogy about twenty years ago and treasurers the legacy her ancestors have left her.
